Edina Robotics FIRST Team 1816, The Green Machine, will have its 2007 competition robot on display and for demonstration during TechFest, a celebration of science and engineering taking place on Saturday, March 1. Sponsored by The Works, the University of Minnesota Institute of Technology Alumni Society and the Society of Women Engineers, this year’s National Engineers Week event will focus on various aspect of mechanical engineering. The Works is a hands-on museum of science and engineering located on the third floor of the Edina Community Center. During this free event, members of the community are invited to build a catapult, visit The Works hands-on museum, tour various demonstrations staged by the University of Minnesota, and even meet Goldy Gopher! The hours of TechFest are 9 AM to 5 PM; the Edina Community Center, 5701 Normandale Road.
