With barely hours left in the build season, it’s coming down to the wire. Team members of The Green Machine were busily working on this year’s robot, Zazu, when they received an unexpected visitor to their Edina High School workshop. Steve Jons, of Dow Water Solutions, a Green Machine sponsor, came to check in to see the progress on our 2010 robot. Mr. Jons heard about FIRST Robotics from his neighbor. Ever since, he has been a proud supporter of FIRST, as he put it “it’s a really neat program”! Mr. Jons works with Team 2502-EPRobotics, the Eden Prairie, MN team, his son is on the robotics team, and his daughter is waiting anxiously for her turn. When we asked Mr. Jons why he is such a FIRST enthusiast, he just smiled and said, “ Because it opens so many doors!” Team 1816 would really like to thank Dow and Mr. Jons for their support.
