It’s time to brush the dust off your 2010 FRC robot and sign up to play at this year’s Minne-Mini Regional. Are you a rookie team and don’t have a robot yet? Don’t let that hold you back! This pre-season practice competition is packed with your first chance to see what a FIRSTcompetition is all about, and you’ll come away from the day with plenty of ideas to get started.
This year’s event is hosted by Team 2220-Blue Twilight, Eagan; Team 2129-KinG TeC, Prior Lake, and Team 1816-The Green Machine, Edina, on Saturday, November 20 at Prior Lake High School. This regional will resemble the 2010 FRC Game Breakaway. The format will be similar to an actual competition with qualifying rounds and a late afternoon playoff. Just like a regular regional, there will be on-field referees, pit safety advisors and robot inspectors. Pits open at 8:00 a.m. and the competition starts at 9:00 a.m. The finals will wrap up by 5:00pm and be followed by awards. The day should be finished by 6:00 pm.
The Minne-Mini Regional is free and open to the public. Concessions will be open all day, stocked with hot dogs, chips, beverages and pizza. There will also be dessert bars, cookies, cupcakes for sale as well. Teams can bring in food but it must be consumed in the concession area with no food or beverages in the gym or pit areas.
