The 6-week robot build has ended and our 2012 robot is loaded all snug in its giant plastic bag.  Regional competitions are starting right away and there’s just enough time for us to pack up our tools. Before we hit the road for the Lake Superior Regional in Duluth, we’d like to take a moment to thank all the individuals and sponsors who have helped through contributions of time, services, and money.  Their efforts have made the start of the 2012 season one of the best ever.

We’d like to thank Team 1816’s parents for contributing Build Season snacks, lunches, and dinners.  They kept us well fed and fueled through our long workshop hours. Team parents also contributed snack items and ran a concessions stand at the Works’ Tech Fest. While we were demonstrating the features of our 2011 robot, many team parents took shifts throughout the day to serve up goodies to the estimated 2000 visitors to the Works. The proceeds from this event are helping to underwrite our travel expenses to competitions.

For helping us register for two regional competitions, upgrade our 6-year old computer hardware and software, and build our 2012 robot, we owe many thanks to all of our corporate sponsors. Without their support, our team would never have been able to have the invaluable experience of bringing our robot from idea to reality. Our generous sponsors include Medtronic, Dow Water Solutions, Lifetime Fitness, Crosstown Surgery Center, Graco, Sebesta Blomberg, Stratasys, 3M Company, College of Saint Scholastica, Banners To Go, and Southdale Family Dentistry. Our team is indebted to them for their generosity and their commitment to educational programs like FIRST Robotics.

This year, our list of contributors to the team has grown many times over. Edina Robotics FIRST Team 1816 is proud to acknowledge the following individuals, businesses, and families for their contributions to our team this season:
