About the Robot

  • Climber: A pneumatically-actuated piston clamps onto the climbing station with 400 pounds of force. Two custom gearboxes flip our robot completely over onto the station. A consistent and reliable end-of-match scoring mechanism..
  • Cargo Mechanism: Uses an over-the-robot bumper collector to grab cargo, regardless of where it is in the collector. The collector feeds the internal shooter mechanism into both the rocket and cargo structures on the field.
  • Drivetrain: 6-wheeled drive train enables the robot to traverse the field in 16 ft/sec. 
  • Hatch Mechanism: A pneumatically-actuated ‘beak’, modeled after a real-world bird beak, grips the inner hole in the hatch panel. The beak holds the panel until two pistons launch the panel into place.
