About the Robot
- Autonomous: For the first 15 seconds of every match, Zodiac moves autonomously using pre-build paths called “splines” and shoots up to 7 balls during this time.
- Turret: a flywheel based, rotating shooter that uses cameras for minor adjustments to improve ball-shooting accuracy. Features Falcon 500s (combination DC motor, motor controller, and encoder) to help power-shoot the balls. A stereo camera identifies the target and determines distance; the turret automatically aims and makes precise shots.
- Spindexer: A spinning index chamber based on a Tippman paintball gun. Provides reliable delivery of balls to the elevator and keeps balls inside the system during intense driving and impacts.
- Over-the-bumper Ball Pickup: 2z1-1/4″ aluminum tubes wrapped in rubber-surgical tubing provide good grip and act as a barrier for the hopper when folded up. Includes integrated wire management and 775pro motors.
