As we head into our 4th week of build for this year’s competition “Rapid React”, Team 1816 has made tremendous strides towards accomplishing objectives set at the beginning of Kickoff.

New this season, we are using a MIRO board to display our goals for each week. Via projection onto the wall above our main workspace, we have been able to track our targets and complete tasks assigned. We typically go over these goals in our all-team meeting every Monday with leads explaining what tasks are completed and what needs to be done. For example, developing proof of concepts for parts of our robot, creating the prototypes, evaluating the models, and improving upon designs have been the mechanical/build subteam’s daily tasks for the past three weeks. Andrew G, one of our robot build leads, says that “the right expectations were set at kickoff” and that “the pace of the team is on track of what is expected.”

Keerthi K, co-software subteam lead, adds that “the team is roughly meeting the expected pace” and “given our progress so far, things are looking good. Of course, we should strive to be more efficient.” Overall, the team’s momentum to perform the required tasks has stayed on schedule, and we hope to continue this progress throughout the season.
