Already the days of the 2015 FIRST Robotics robot build are flying by! Hard to believe that it will be a matter of weeks before we zip our 2015 robot ZEBRAH into its regulation giant plastic bag to head to the Lake Superior Regional. On January 3, it was the day we have all been waiting for….the 2015 FIRST Robotics Kick off! The Green Machine along with 93 other FRC teams congregated at the University of Minnesota’s Northrop Auditorium to watch the broadcast announcing this years’ game. We could barely stay in our seats, squirming with anticipation, when the game animation video began. This year’s game is RECYCLE RUSH SM! The objective of the game is to stack up to six totes, along with a recycling bin on top, and “recycle” green pool noodles – aka “the litter.” This game is nothing like FRC teams have seen in prior years. Even the competition field looks different. Each side of the field is marked by Blue and Red carpeting strips to match the Alliance based on that end of the field. We cannot wait to see how our robot turns out and we are anxious to see what other teams bring to the field!
