On Sunday, January 27, The Green Machine was featured in a front-page StarTribune article along with FRC Team 2177-The Robettes and FRC Team 2169-KING TeC! The article discussed how Minnesota’s State High School League is the first in the nation to recognize robotics – specifically FIRST Robotics — as a varsity sport, complete with a state championship tournament in May. A state tournament win in Robotics is equivalent to winning the championship in hockey or football. This year, there are 180 FIRST Robotics Teams in Minnesota which outnumbers the number of varsity hockey teams by almost 30 teams. Come discover why FIRST Robotics is the fastest-growing “sport” in Minnesota!

This year, there are four competitions. At the DECC in Duluth, March 7 – 9, visit the Lake Superior Regional and Northern Lights Regional at the DECC. Then join us March 28 – 30 in Minneapolis for the North Star Regional at Mariucci Arena and the 10,000 Lakes Regional at Williams Arenas. The Green Machine will compete at the Lake Superior Regional as well as at the North Star Regional (Mariucci Arena). Be sure to stop by and say hello!
