The Green Machine has barely had enough time to savor the experience of competing at the 2014 FIRST World Championships and we’re now only days away from competing in the 3rd annual MSHSL-FIRST Robotics State Championship. This season-ending competition is free and open to the public. Come cheer us on at Williams Arena, 9 am until 4 PM!
While at Championships in St. Louis, we were thrilled to see so many of our “be FIRST” teams promoting the message of be FIRST. At events around the country, new “be FIRST” winners were selected. We welcome these winning teams for their continued promotion and vision to help spread the mission and core values of FIRST: Team 3313 Mechatronics (Lake Superior Regional), Team 27 RUSH (Northern Lights Regional), Team 3130 E.R.R.O.R. (North Star Regional), Team 2502 Talon Robotics (10,000 Lakes Regional), Team 1736 Robot Casserole (Wisconsin Regional), and Team 2016 Mighty Monkey Wrenches (Queen City Regional).
This year at Championships, 1816 was one of 16 teams representing the state of Minnesota in the international competition. We competed in the Archimedes Division with five other Minnesota teams. At the end of Qualifications, we were ranked 35th with a record of 6-4 out of 100 teams. Although we did not get picked for an alliance, we had a fun time cheering (and tweeting about) on all of the Minnesota teams who were in St. Louis.
